JOB DESCRIPTION
The Paramedic is a health care professional who assists and provides guidance to their EMT or Paramedic partner in the delivery of patient care. The duties of the Paramedic are primarily performing patient assessments and interventions in accordance with the medic protocols. The Paramedic is competent to provide care to patients of all ages (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatric). The paramedic responds to emergent and non-emergent requests for emergency medical assistance under the guidelines of local medical direction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide pre-hospital emergency care according to established medical protocols.
- Perform triage and a variety of emergency medical treatments at the Basic and Advanced Life support level. Provide continuing care and treatment while enroute to an emergency medical facility; monitor and report changes in patient condition.
- Under medical direction and following prescribed standing orders perform a variety of invasive and non-invasive therapies including but not limited to assessment and evaluation of the ill and injured, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation, administration of drugs, agents and solutions, intubation and pulmonary ventilation, application of dressing and bandages, control of shock, and immobilization of fractures, and all other skills contained within the Department of Transportation manual of knowledge objectives for Paramedics.
- Drive the ambulance to emergency scenes, transport patients to hospitals.
- Employ safe lifting and moving techniques. Maintain ambulance vehicle, equipment and station.
- Act as a preceptor for EMS students and new employees.
- Handle radio communications during emergency and non-emergency situations professionally.
- Keep records and logs on daily activities.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
SCHEDULE
- 24 hour shifts
- “California” schedule: 24 on, 24 off, 24 on, 24 off, 24 on, 4 days off
- Work an average of 10 days per month

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Age: 18
- Education: High School Diploma and completion of an accredited Paramedic program
- Experience: New Graduates or Experienced Providers
- Ability to obtain Wisconsin and Minnesota EMS licenses
- Valid Driver's License with no major infractions or violations.
- National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians-Paramedic (NREMT-P)
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS CPR)
- Coaching Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO) or equivalent course
- NIMS 100, 200, and 700
Salary : $64,000 - $108,000
