Hours scheduled between 7:30 am and 3 pm, Monday through Friday


Position Overview:

The Radiology Tech - Clinic is responsible for the radiographic examinations utilizing diagnostic radiographic equipment. Contributes to the efficient operation of the department, ensuring the quality and continuity of patient care. Assists in the clinical training of radiologic technology students. This position is responsible to deliver the highest of customer service standards for patients and families presenting for imaging services. Responsibilities include performing radiologic exams, training other staff, entering of data and orders. This position will also be trained to assist with all patient care including, but not limited to rooming of patients, scheduling of patients and laboratory duties as necessary. Identifies each patient and reviews each patient’s requisition for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis and all demographic information. Demonstrates courteous behavior through polite and respectful communication with patients and co-workers.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs all required examinations properly positioning the patient and equipment. Assesses patient condition, ensures patient safety and comfort. Selects the correct procedure and radiographic technique.
  • Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination to radiology and communicates pertinent data on a need to know basis. Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images and ensures proper film identification on all images.
  • Complies with organization and department mandatory training and assists with the orientation and training of new employees and students.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety and environmental/infection control standards.
  • Successfully rooms patients, takes vital signs and assists providers with procedures, casting, ect. Correctly registers patients for x-ray procedures.
  • Performs phlebotomy, specimen collection and performing lab tests.
  • Enters patient data and test results into the EMR. Orders supplies when needed and stocks exam rooms.
  • Complies with organization and department mandatory training and assists with the orientation and training of new employees and students.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety and environmental/infection control.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Required:

  • 2-year degree in related field of study.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiology Technology.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Certification by the ARRT(R).
  • Travel required for different clinic locations.
  • Radiology competencies, basic vital monitoring of patients.
  • Basic computer skills. Word. Outlook. Patient information database (Cerner, EMR, American Data).
  • General ability to manage the patient flow, staff training, scheduling and efficiency in order to ensure the highest standards of patient care and satisfaction.

Preferred:

  • Associate degree preferred. Prior experience preferred, extensive on-the-job training.
