Position Overview:
Has an advanced understanding of the Nurse Practice Process including assessment, planning, documentation, and evaluation of the resident which s/he uses while providing direct care including the physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and educational needs of the resident and family. Conducts self professionally and respectfully in administering nursing care and education to the resident and family members, interacting with the interdisciplinary health care team members and with the community.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Overall coordination of care from admission to discharge, using the nursing process. Supervision of staff and delegation of duties using effective communication techniques.
- Facilitate learning for staff, residents, families, and community.
- Keeps current on nursing theory, research, medications, and legal issues related to resident care services.
- Conforms to the Nurse Practice Act. Provides oversight to the LPN as well as the Nursing Assistants.
- Answers resident call lights and addresses resident needs. Collects, interprets, and documents in the EMR and communicates appropriately pertinent data that is relevant to the resident's care with other members of the health care team.
- Acts as a resource to the other team members, including students. Follows recommended infection control procedures during contact with residents.
- Participates in and supports continuous improvement initiatives. Ongoing education and in-depth understanding of Continuous System Improvements (CSI) and supports Leaders Standard Work (LSW).
- Actively engage our residents by implementing Moving Well techniques in our day-to-day contact with them. These techniques include using intergenerational interactive participatory dance, storytelling and touch to liberate their power to nurture and heal our residents.

Skills and Experience:
Required:
- 2 or 4-year RN degree
- CPR Certification
Preferred:
- Basic computer skills
- Word, Outlook
- EMR, Patient information database, Cerner
