Summary of Position Responsibilities:
- Provide students and employees with a safe, clean, and attractive environment in which to learn, play, develop, and
work by maintaining the physical plant and grounds on a daily basis. Ensure safety of students when crossing
intersections on the way to school and on the way home.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be
assigned.
- Daily inspections of buildings and grounds for safety purposes while entering work orders for concerns found. Report
all findings to the Director of Facilities and/or Facilities Team Lead.
- Perform a variety of general facilities maintenance throughout the campus including but not limited to carpentry,
plumbing, electrical and HVAC.
- Perform a variety of general facilities maintenance of grounds including but not limited to maintaining lawns, athletic
fields, trash removal and gardens as directed.
- Maintain the campus for all snow removal. Clearing of sidewalks, doorways, sanding and/or salting as necessary to
provide safe means for all staff and students.
- Cleans, sanitizes, and preserves designated spaces in the building (i.e: classrooms, cafeteria, bathrooms, common
spaces.) while being responsible for building cleanliness on a daily basis including but not limited to: Vacuum, sweep,
dust mop, wet mop, auto-scrub, wash, clean and stock bathrooms, clean shower stalls, wash and clean windows,
walls, remove trash, recycling and compost, wash trash cans, recycle bins, compost bins, weather fountains and sinks.
Make certain all areas of the building are kept clean, sanitary and in orderly condition according to industry and/or
District Standards.
- Properly maintains all facilities equipment while keeping a log for records.
- Maintain the work order system accordingly and perform work as intended while closing out upon completion of said
work order.
- Assumes responsibility for the closing of his/her area and the building when assigned other than school times, and for
determining before leaving, all doors and windows are secured and lights are turned off except those left on for
safety reasons.
- Responsible for maintaining all required VOSHA/OSHA and NFPA codes and regulations on a daily basis and reporting
any findings to the Director of Facilities and/or Facilities Team Lead.
- Maintain inventory of all products on a daily basis and report if items are needed to maintain completion of daily
tasks each day.
- Responsible, with help from team leads to maintain monthly required inspections and log as required for records.
- Being available, as assigned, for on-call, after hours scheduled events and/or weather events. Confers with the
Facilities Team Lead to coordinate work activities with other facility personnel to ensure all events are covered as
needed.
- Responsible for helping setting up events, teardown of events and required coverage as needed including weekends.
- Responsible for the safe operation of all equipment and for following safety precautions during assigned tasks while
using said equipment.
- Crossing Guard and/or Cafeteria Duty coverage as assigned
- Other duties as directed by the Director of Facilities and/or Facilities Team Supervisor.
