What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sustainability Lead position at Winpak Portion Packaging?
Winpak Portion Packaging is looking for a Sustainability Lead to join their team based out of Sauk Village or South Chicago Heights, IL.
The Sustainability Lead will play a key role in shaping and driving our sustainability efforts across multiple sites and departments. In this dynamic position, you’ll design and implement strategies, set clear sustainability goals, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. You’ll also lead sustainability programs, track environmental metrics, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to advance our sustainability objectives. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement comprehensive sustainability strategies and action plans.
- Set sustainability targets, KPIs, and benchmarks to track progress and success.
- Lead and manage sustainability programs across multiple sites and departments.
- Monitor and report on environmental metrics, including energy consumption and waste production.
- Oversee data collection and reporting for sustainability platforms such as CDP and EcoVadis.
- Develop policies, procedures, and training programs to promote sustainability practices within the organization.
- Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and external organizations to drive sustainability initiatives and achieve corporate goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or Studies, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in a sustainability or environmental position
- 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- 1 year of experience advising sustainability, regulations, and standards relevant to sustainability.
- 1 years of experience in a position that required influencing teams and driving change within an organization
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in a related field
- 3 years of experience working with or studying sustainability principles, environmental regulations, and best practices.
- 1 years of experience working within or supporting the packaging industry
- 3 years of experience proficiently using Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word & Teams
- 1 years of experience in project management or using project management skills, tools and technology
- 1 year of experience effectively collaborating and communicating with both internal and external stakeholders
- 1 years of experience analyzing and interpreting data
Additional Details:
- This position is 100% onsite
- This position requires occasional domestic and international travel up to 25% of the time
Compensation Range: $110,000-$130,000
The compensation range provided is a general guideline only. Pay will be determined based on the candidate's experience and expertise and is subject to vary.
