Gage Calibration/ Aerospace Inspector

We are seeking a skilled Gage Calibration/Inspector to join our aerospace manufacturing quality team. This role ensures all measuring instruments, gages, and inspection equipment are properly calibrated and maintained to meet industry and customer specifications. The ideal candidate has experience in dimensional inspection, gage calibration, and working within AS9100 and ISO 17025 quality environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform calibration of gages and precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, thread gages, and other various gages.
  • Maintain calibration records and ensure compliance with industry standards (AS9100, ISO 17025, and MIL-STD-45662A) utilizing Gagecontrol software.
  • Maintain calibration schedules, issue recall notices, and update databases for traceability.
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor issues with measuring instruments and coordinate with external calibration service providers as needed.
  • Assist in internal and external audits related to gage calibration and metrology compliance.
  • Conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections of aerospace components using precision measurement tools.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and inspection criteria to verify part compliance.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in gage calibration, inspection, or quality assurance in an aerospace or precision manufacturing environment.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification in metrology, quality assurance, or related field preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gages, optical comparators, thread gages, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading.
  • Experience with calibration software and maintaining gage databases.
  • Soft Skills: Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
