Event Management Specialist
Our client is a global imaging company with US headquarters on Long Island. They are currently seeking an Event Management Specialist to assist in the coordination of Corporate event programs including planning, execution, logistics, and budgeting.
Responsibilities:
- Coordination, supporting, and execution of various events such as corporate responsibility programs, executive dinners, sponsorships, and trade shows. of event and program communications
- Organizes and plans logistics (e.g., facility recommendations, menu selection, transportation, and audio/visual equipment) for trade show events).
- Ensures protocol is followed.
- Supports Senior Manager with the installation of new showroom exhibits.
- Conduct showroom tours after learning the showroom script.
- Provides on-site support.
- Assists with the development of communication materials for all events.
- Maintains and tracks the budget for the event.
- Maintains database of all events / trade shows monthly.
Qualifications:
- 5= years of experience in event planning (preferably in a corporate setting)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Must be well organized and a detail-oriented self-starter
- Must be a multi-tasker- comfortable working in a fast paced, results oriented, deadline driven environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
- Will be needed to support some evening and weekend events
- Strong MS Word and PowerPoint skills and intermediate Excel skills.
- Experience working with social media platforms such as Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook
- Up to 25% local travel
Compensation:
$40 - $42 per hour Contract-to-Hire
Minimum 6-month project (high probability of the role going permanent)
