40 hours per week
DEFINITION OF DUTIES:
Under the supervision of the Head Maintenance/Groundskeeper, works and assists in a wide variety of assigned jobs, determined in part by background, training, and ability. The Head Maintenance/Groundskeeper will supervise, schedule, and assign the day to day work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION: High School graduate or equivalent.
- Possess a current valid Oregon driver's license issued by the Oregon Dept. of Motor Vehicles.
Desired:
- Training and work in construction, equipment repair, groundskeeping, fabrication, and vehicle repair.
- Knowledge of: Tools, materials, and methods used in building and grounds maintenance work.
- Be agreeable to additional job-related training if required or requested.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (not necessarily limited to):
- Performs or assists in the repair of district buildings and facilities.
- Maintains district grounds, including mowing, irrigation, fertilizing, weeding, fence repair, and play field preparation as directed.
- Assists, or performs with supervision, repair and maintenance work on all types of district equipment and vehicles.
- Operate various types of vehicles and equipment and follow accepted safety procedures.
- Estimate the scope and requirements for each work assignment and bring to that job the necessary tools, materials, and parts, to complete the job in a reasonable time frame.
- Maintain a cooperative and agreeable working relationship with other employees.
- Communicate effectively with supervisor and other employees.
- Perform physical labor, as required in this type of work.
- Other job related duties as assigned.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Strength: Heavy Work - Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 70 pounds. Will be required to use a variety of chemicals on a daily basis. May be required to wear safety gear (i.e. goggles, gloves, face shields etc.) while operating tools/equipment.
