Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Catheterization Lab team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of anatomy and medical terminology, with experience in inpatient care and medical imaging. This role is critical in providing high-quality patient care during catheterization procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for catheterization procedures, ensuring they understand the process and addressing any concerns.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition before, during, and after procedures.
- Assist physicians during catheterization procedures by providing necessary instruments and support.
- Maintain accurate patient records, documenting all relevant information related to the procedure.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about post-procedure care and recovery plans.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures within the lab environment.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in a catheterization lab or similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and systems related to cardiovascular health.
- Familiarity with MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments is a plus.
- Experience with airway management techniques is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift patients safely and assist with mobility as needed.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is an advantage.
- Commitment to continuous professional development in nursing practices related to catheterization and patient care.
