Sioux City, IA is seeking a skilled and dedicated L&D RN to join their women services unit, High Risk OB, Circulating, Scrub, 160-180 deliveries a month, ACLS, BLS, AWOHN, NRP are required, 13-week contract, 3x12 nights at $2,632 weekly at 36 hours.

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess the health status of mothers and newborns throughout the labor and delivery process.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and other treatments as prescribed.
- Perform routine checks of vital signs and fetal monitoring to ensure optimal health conditions.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding childbirth, breastfeeding, and postpartum care.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
- Implement infection control measures to maintain a safe environment for patients.
- Assist in specimen collection processing as needed for laboratory analysis.
- Document patient care activities accurately in medical records.
- Participate in continuous education to stay updated on best practices in labor and delivery nursing.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Strong background in patient care with a focus on maternal health.
- Experience in critical care settings is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with occupational health standards related to maternal care.
- Knowledge of esthetic laser treatment is a plus.
- Proficient in vital signs monitoring and interpretation.
- Understanding of infection control protocols within a clinical setting.
- Experience in senior care or caring for patients with specific ailments is beneficial.
- Competence in IV insertion techniques is required.
