Unit Notes:**CERNER REQUIRED** ***MUST HAVE 1 YEAR OF BURN EXPERIENCE IN A BURN UNIT*** Floating to a burn unit does not count. -Basic EKG interpretation test assigned to them during orientation. Critical care RNs (ED/ICUs/PICU) will have more than just the basic interpretation test (like those included in the STEMI curriculum and Procedural Sedation curriculum assigned to them). - Unit: Burn Unit - # beds: 7-adult and peds (average daily census 4) -
Certs: BLS, PALS, ACLS--prefer advanced burn life support - Ratios: 1 to 2 (treated as an ICU) - EMR: Cerner - Charge Nurse: Yes - Nurse Aides: No--have a burn tech (not on every shift); assist w/ hydrotherapy and dressing changes - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend - Holidays: 2 out of 3 holidays - Scrub Color: Navy blue - Tele: Phillips in burn unit, must be abel to read own - Vents: Yes - Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: The hospitalist and intensivist consult, but burn surgeons cover burns - IV Team: n/a - RT 24/7: Yes - Pharmacy 24/7: Yes - Call: If census dictates with a drop, will put on call - Shifts: 6a, 6p - Floating: Yes, PICU, peds or adult ICU
- Floor specific orientation: 2 shifts in burn unit, 1 shift PICU or ICU and 1 shift peds - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Primary burns (ICU level to med surg level) for adults and children - Additional Notes: A minimum of 6 months to 1 year experience in a burn ICU Cancellation Policy:Hospital may cancel up to 3 times per contract. Each cancellation could be a full shift or any part of a shift. (Hospital may also pay full hours for a particular shift, in lieu of cancellation). Travel - $3528/week before taxes $3108/week after taxes based on 20% for taxes
The base hourly is $50/hour for the first 8 hours of the day then $75/hour after the 8 hours. Blended taxable hourly is $58.33
