Practice Group Management and Administration
- Assist PGL with the implementation of practice group strategic initiatives and management of daily operations
- Develop relationships with attorneys, paralegals and non-legal personnel to foster trust and confidence in the function and role
- Survey associates and counsel weekly for their capacity to handle new assignments
- Prepare reports on a weekly/monthly basis to review billable time and to ensure that hours are being entered timely
- Analyze of data in Iridium to associate/counsel capacity responses to ensure equitable distribution of assignments
- Prepare various reports in Iridium – YTD, YOY, monthly
- Track associate/counsel matter assignments to ensure associates/counsel gain experience working on different matter types and working with various members
- Obtain and review monthly status reports from associates/counsels
- Coordinate logistics for practice group meetings including scheduling, room reservations, technology and catering requirements
- Hold monthly and quarterly practice group member meetings to discuss department issues, policies, financial data and firm updates
Attorney Professional Development
- Assist in the promoting and supporting the firm and practice group mentoring initiatives
- Stay abreast of performance issues to ensure issues are addressed in a timely manner and that support is made available, as appropriate
- Participate in annual review process, including attendance and documentation of review meetings
Client/Business Development
- Coordinate meetings with prospective clients
- Assist with creating/revising presentations
- Liase with Marketing team on business development, including seminars, entertainment and CLEs and marketing collateral
- Liaise with PGL and business departments to solve issues and accomplish tasks
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Juris Doctor preferred
- Five plus years of relevant experience in a law firm or professional services firm environment
- Ability to work independently and drive a project from start to finish with timely completion of milestones
- Ability to identify and escalate issues as needed
- Detail oriented with the ability to produce error free work
- Ability to build relationships and gain the trust of the attorneys
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate and collaborate with people at all levels within the organization and firm
- Ability to manage details and maintain a high level of organization on multiple projects
- Ability to analyze financial data
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
