Job Purpose
Receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. Keep records and compile stock reports.
Tasks
- Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockroom.
- Store items in an orderly and accessible manner pulling old inventory forward in shop, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
- Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, expiration dates, and reporting any damage to the Management.
- Receive, count stock items, and record data manually and using computer.
- Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
- Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors. Communicate with team leaders on their need for consumable cabinets and needs for boat projects (example: electrical items, battery lugs, heat shrink, resin, hardener, etc).
- Issue or distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies to co-workers/subcontractors, based on information from incoming requisitions.
- Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Recommend disposal of excess, defective, or obsolete stock as well as taking out trash in stockroom, stockroom office, as well as trash in the shop.
- Keep records on the use or damage of stock or stock-handling equipment.
- Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
- Ensure hardware bins are filled accurately and are labelled properly
- Accurately inventory company tools, create labels for impact drivers, hammer drills, DA Sanders, etc. and store them in an organized fashion. Note when a tool is broken and what is wrong with the tool to distinguish if the tool needs maintenance or if a new tool needs to be purchased.
- Dust items in stockroom with duster and air hose.
- Communicate with Vice President regarding all returns
- Ensure accurate inventory of bathroom supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and cleaning supplies.
- Lock all doors at the end of the workday – receiving dock/bay doors.

Work Environment The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, precarious places, around fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions.
