About Us:
At Winter Haven Montessori, we are dedicated to fostering a nurturing and stimulating mixed-age environment for students in grades 1st through 3rd. Our curriculum integrates language, mathematics, history, science, the arts, and more. Lessons are presented in small groups followed by independent work, allowing students to explore their interests and build personal responsibility.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and passionate Upper Elementary Room Teacher to join our team. The teacher will work closely with a Teacher's Assistant to provide a supportive and engaging learning experience. The ideal candidate will have a deep love and patience for children, along with knowledge of best practices and Montessori methods.
Responsibilities:
- Create a safe, loving, and stimulating environment for students.
- Employ a variety of educational techniques, including reading, Montessori lessons, and educational media.
- Observe each child to support their social competencies and build self-esteem.
- Guide students in developing their artistic and practical skills through a well-structured curriculum.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom in line with health and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (required).
- Valid teaching certification.
- Certification in infant and adult CPR.
- Successful completion of FDLE background screening.
- In-depth understanding of child development principles and Montessori methods.
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms.
- Excellent communication and instructional skills.
- Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable demeanor.
Benefits:
- Pay: $25.00 per hour.
- All major holidays paid after a 90-day period.
Schedule:
- 7-hour shift, Monday to Friday.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree (required).
License/Certification:
- FDLE background screening.
- Teaching certification.
