Job Title: Lifeguard
Pay Rate: $15 - $17 per hour
Job Summary: The Lifeguard ensures the safety of all members and guests at the aquatics facility while also overseeing playground activities, kids’ camps, private events, club events, and assisting with kids and family recreation activities as needed. Candidates must be strong swimmers and hold American Red Cross certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR, AED, and First Aid or an equivalent certification.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Monitor the aquatic facility, enforce safety rules, and respond to emergencies.
- Oversee playground activity, kids’ camps, private events, and club events to ensure safety.
- Assist with kids and family recreation activities as needed.
- Supervise water sports such as kayaking and paddleboarding within safety guidelines.
- Conduct pool chemical checks and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure proper storage and maintenance of all recreational equipment.
- Assist with event setup/breakdown and complete necessary reports.
- Attend monthly in-service training to stay updated on safety procedures.
Requirements:
- Minimum age: 16 years.
- Certifications: Current Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR, AED, and First Aid, or equivalent.
- Waterfront Certification: Must obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Skills: Strong swimming ability, safety awareness, and effective communication.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand/walk up to 8 hours and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Schedule: Must be available for weekends, holidays, and peak-season shifts.
- Background Check and Drug test upon employment
