Job Title: Kennel Technician and Playcamp Counselor
Location: Winter Park Veterinary Hospital
Availability: Full-time, 7 days a week including holidays

We are a fast paced 10-doctor veterinary practice that specializes in the care of cats, dogs, and a variety of exotic animals such as reptiles, avians, and small mammals. Our team is passionate about providing the best care to both our patients and their pet parents.

Position Overview:
We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible Kennel Technicians and Playcamp Counselors. This role involves caring for animals staying with us overnight, as well as maintaining a safe and fun doggy daycare environment. Our daycare service is growing, and we aim to expand it into dog training services. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to progress in animal care and work within a supportive, growth-oriented team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily care for dogs and cats staying at our facility, ensuring their safety, health, and comfort.
  • Supervise and engage with dogs in the daycare (Playcamp), ensuring a fun and safe environment for all dogs.
  • Monitor dog interactions and maintain control of group dynamics to prevent injuries or behavioral issues.
  • Administer special diets as directed by the veterinary team.
  • Clean and maintain kennels, play areas, and general facility cleanliness.
  • Assist with feeding, walking, and exercising animals in our care.
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners about their pets' behavior, health, and daycare experiences.
  • Maintain accurate records of animal care, feeding schedules, and medication administration.
  • Collaborate with veterinary staff and assist with animal care when needed.
  • Follow all safety and care protocols to ensure a high standard of care for all animals.
  • Support the expansion of dog training programs in the daycare.
  • Uphold our practice’s culture of teamwork, positivity, and exceptional customer service.

Qualifications:

  • Genuine passion for animal care and welfare.
  • Experience in a kennel, daycare, or veterinary setting preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work full-time, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Physical ability to handle and care for animals of all sizes and temperaments.
  • A desire to grow within the veterinary or animal care field.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining a positive, drama-free workplace.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 37 per week
