Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading and unloading products.
Delivery driver is responsible for the safe delivery of prescriptions to Winter garden Pharmacy customers.
Job Responsibilities and Accountability
- Safe driving and operation of delivery vehicle to deliver/pick up prescriptions to patient’s home or place of business.
- Plans delivery route to maximize efficiency and productivity for the day.
- Coordinates paperwork and payment with the customer, as required.
- Returns to the pharmacy with proper co-pays and delivery signatures.
- Calls 911 in the event of an emergency at patient’s home.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures.
Duties
- Operate delivery vehicles, including vans and trucks, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Load and unload products, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Navigate assigned routes effectively while adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
- Utilize equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts for heavy lifting tasks.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation.
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding any delays or issues encountered during deliveries.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries or concerns from clients upon delivery.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with commercial driving practices and route driving is advantageous.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
