Racquet Sports Professional

About the Role:

The Racquet Sports Professional in at Wintergreen plays a pivotal role in enhancing the overall experience of our members and guests through the promotion and facilitation of racquet sports activities. This position is designed to support the lead professionals in delivering high-quality coaching, organizing events, and maintaining the facilities to ensure a welcoming environment for all participants. The Racquet Sports Professional will be instrumental in developing programs that cater to various skill levels, fostering a love for racquet sports within the community. Additionally, this role involves engaging with members to provide personalized guidance and support, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded. Ultimately, the Racquet Sports Professional will contribute to the growth and success of the racquet sports program, helping to create a vibrant and active community around these sports.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Certification in racquet sports coaching or a related field.
• Experience in coaching or teaching racquet sports.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer service oriented.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in event management or program development.
• Knowledge of various racquet sports, including tennis and pickleball.
• First Aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the planning and execution of racquet sports programs and events.
• Provide coaching and instruction to players of all skill levels, ensuring a positive learning environment including lessons, clinics, camps and academies.
• Assist with facility maintenance as needed
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of racquet sport facilities and equipment.
• Engage with members and guests to promote racquet sports and encourage participation.
• Assist in facilitating member events.
• Collaborate with the lead professionals to develop new initiatives and improve existing programs.
• Assist in the Racquet Sports Pro Shop as needed.
• Perform racquet stringing

Skills:

The required skills for this role include effective communication, which is essential for engaging with members and providing clear instructions during coaching sessions. Organizational skills are crucial for planning events and maintaining the facilities, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Interpersonal skills will be utilized daily to build rapport with participants and foster a welcoming atmosphere. Preferred skills, such as event management experience, will enhance the ability to create engaging programs that attract more participants. Additionally, knowledge of various racquet sports will allow the Assistant Professional to offer diverse coaching techniques and strategies, enriching the overall experience for all involved.

Wintergreen Resort and Club is looking for a Full-Time Tennis Professional for immediate hire. Our facilities at both Devils Knob and Stoney Creek total 16 clay courts and 3 indoor deco-turf courts and 8 outdoor pickleball courts. Nestled at the top of the Blue Ridge Mountains and 40 miles from Charlottesville, Wintergreen also features 45 holes of world-class golf, including 27 holes at Stoney Creek, designed by internationally-renowned golf course architect Rees Jones; five restaurants on-site; a newly expanded spa and fitness center; conference facilities; award-winning nature programs; 30 miles of maintained hiking trails; and nationally-recognized activities programs. The Wintergreen community consists of over 3500 homes and condominiums, and many residents are Members of the resort.
