Position PurposeResponsible for day to day site operation of campus library. Perfom routine clerical duties. Works under supervision of campus principal.
Essential Job FunctionsLibrary Program Support
Implement current school library program and create and atmosphere that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity level and interests of student.Help library patrons use library / media center resources including computers and other equipmentMake recommendations for purchases of materials and equipment as neededStudent Instructional Support
Provide instruction for students and other library users as needed and help them locate resourcesReinforce reading instruction as directed by teachers.Schedule and prepare materials and reserve collection for classroom instructional useAccounting
and Inventory of library
Process, organize, distribute, and maintain inventory of library / media center resources.Clerical Support
Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other docments as required.Student Management
Monitor students and maintain appropriate student behavior and an orderly atmospere.Additional Duties : Perform any other related duties as assigned.Note : The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to : - High School diploma or equivalent.- Valid Texas eduational aide certificate or the ability to obtain- Prior experience working with students is preferred.
