We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Associate to join our dynamic Accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately coding vendor invoices and managing phone inquiries related to Accounts Payable. While prior experience in Accounts Payable is not required, it will be considered a valuable asset. The ideal candidate will bring strong customer service experience, excellent administrative skills, and proficiency in computer applications. We’re looking for someone who is self-motivated, meticulous, and eager to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Job Type: Full-time (37.5 hours per week).
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Compensation: $22.00-25.00 per hour depending on experience.
Essential Functions:
- Data entry and mailing of utility, vendor, and other bills
- Assists the Accounts Payable Manager with 1099’s.
- Acts as a primary phone contact for Accounts Payable
- Assists with weekly check run
- Sort and distribute legal checks and legal recertifications.
- Sort and distribute Utility Allowances checks to Winterwood’s tenants.
- Select, approve and pay invoices as requested on vendor accounts.
- Daily monitoring of the Accounts Payable email while maintaining acceptable response rates to each email.
- Creates journal entries
- Print and void checks, as needed, for all property managers.
- Allocate and enter monthly Sterling invoices for AR and AP.
- Work closely with the Accounting Assistant to issue payments from the reserve account.
- Work closely with the Lease Cancellations Manager on tenant accounts and issue deposit refund checks.
- Support AP manager with property tax payment and appeals process.
- Complete all tasks and special projects as assigned.
- Collaborate with AP and AR Managers on processing and reporting issues.
- Support property managers with vendor issues.
- Monitor and track uncleared vendor payments and work with avid exchange to update vendor preferences on accounts.
- Acts as a back-up for Accounts Payable Manager.
Qualifications:
- Previous Accounting experience preferred, but not required.
- Proficiency with accounting software and office systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screening, criminal background check, and credit check.
