HVAC Apprentice

We’re looking to hire two HVAC Apprentices to join our team. The primary responsibilities include assisting the HVAC Technician with troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of HVAC equipment, as well as supporting the installation and maintenance of units on construction projects.

Job Type: Full-Time

Work Schedule: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (subject to overtime)

Compensation: $15.00-20.00 per hour, based on experience, plus per diem allowance, mileage reimbursement and monthly cell phone reimbursement of $100

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Installation, relocation, and maintenance of HVAC equipment and systems.
• Assists in the diagnosis of malfunctions of HVAC equipment and systems and/or components for the purpose of identifying repair and replacement needs.
• Assist in installation of new HVAC equipment.
• Orders supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items.
• Transports various items (tools, equipment, supplies) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at the jobsite.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools, welder torch, vacuum pump, test equipment utilized in the trade and a motor vehicle; maintain equipment in effective and safe working condition; maintain parts and tool inventory.
• Maintain related records concerning time, labor and materials; maintain log of tasks performed and write reports as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in HVAC, maintenance or construction.
• Knowledge of standard practices of HVAC and refrigeration trade.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations and the proper methods of storing equipment, material, and supplies.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• In-state travel required.
• Ability to communicate and report effectively.
• Must be self motivated.
• Must pass all pre-employment testing including but not limited to drug testing and background screening.

While performing the duties of this job, you may incur the following work conditions:

• Exposure to sounds and noise levels that is distracting or uncomfortable.
• Exposure to very hot or very cold temperatures when working outdoors.
• Exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases.
• Exposure to hazardous equipment. There is some possibility of moderate injury.
• Occasionally must work in very bright or very dim lighting conditions.
• May work physically near others.
