Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Strength & Conditioning Coach to join our team for the summer at Forest Lake Sports Center (6 weeks). The ideal candidate will design and implement off-ice training programs tailored to hockey players of various skill levels. You will play a crucial role in improving athletes' strength, speed, agility, and overall fitness to enhance their on-ice performance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strength and conditioning programs for hockey players (ages 9-18)
- Lead dynamic warm-ups, agility drills, endurance training, and strength workouts
- Educate athletes on injury prevention, recovery, and proper nutrition
- Monitor athlete progress and adjust training plans as needed
- Collaborate with on-ice coaches to align training with hockey development goals
- Ensure a safe and positive training environment
Qualifications:
- Experience working with youth athletes, particularly in hockey
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Performance, or related field or working towards degree (preferred)
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), USA Hockey, or similar certification is a plus
- Passion for sports performance and athlete development
Compensation:
- Competitive pay based on experience $2,000 - $2,500 (negotiable)
