JOB OVERVIEW:
As a part of the Team, you will be the face of Wire 3 in the communities that we intend to serve and responsible for providing the homeowners the best experience possible working in or around their property.
This is a full-time hourly position, expected to work at least 40 hours per week. This position operates in an outdoor environment and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including rain, humidity, high temperatures, and high wind. The outside work environment will vary throughout the day including changes in terrain, traffic, urban settings, and/or rural settings. Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels. This position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug & alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 382 and/or 49 CFR Part 199.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must have 2 years of experience with FTTH, loose tube small and large count fiber.
- A good driving record is required.
- Ability to properly clean and maintain the equipment, check fluid levels, and conduct a visual inspection of vehicle/equipment to assure your vehicle/equipment is performing at optimum safety.
- Load material or equipment for transport from show-up yard to job site and secure as appropriate.
- Ability to distinguish the standard 12 color code system for fiber.
- Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with use and maintenance of optical splicing and test equipment (OTDR, OLTS, VFL, OPM, OPI/Traffic Identifier)
- Proficient with hot cuts, maintenance window, CO/NOC communications with a tester/MSO technician
- Ability to understand and troubleshoot various fiber architecture including DWDM, CWDM mux/splitters and equipment.
- Proven leadership experience to assist and direct workflow to produce the highest quality results.
- Knowledge of NESC, OSHA, and related state and local codes.
- Able to work in heights and confined spaces.
- Operate hydraulic aerial lifts and ladders mounted to trucks.
- Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. as needed with or without assistance.
- Keep work areas clean and organized. Keep detailed record of work activity.
- Willing and able to work in all weather conditions.
- Must be available to work any shift and On-call rotation required.
- Must be able to read, adapt, and build from blueprints and/or wire diagrams/splice charts.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, basic Computer skills.
- Set up a safety perimeter using signage, cones, and/or safety barriers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excavation & Earth Moving Equipment Operators: 1 year (Preferred)
- Heavy equipment operation: 1 year (Preferred)
