What are the responsibilities and job description for the Market Data Analyst - GIS position at Wire3?
JOB OVERVIEW: As a Market Data Analyst on the New Market Development team, you will support and influence strategic decisions by using spatial analytics, geographic enrichment of business data, and related data visualization techniques to garner insights and provide recommendations most often related to potential expansion locations, emerging/alternative market locations, territory management, and new market research.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responding to analytical requests that provide data driven business insights and recommendations across Wire 3 areas, including: Marketing, Sales, Engineering, and other support areas.
• Developing descriptive analytical models to provide business insights and recommendations across Wire 3 area and new potential markets.
• The development, execution, deployment, and improvement of team data asset production processes, weekly reporting, automation, QC/data validation, gathering info from various sources.
• Utilize ArcGIS and other mapping technologies to analyze data and transform data for easy use across the company.
• Identifying and engaging in opportunities to grow knowledge and skills related to best practices in analytical technologies, methodologies, verification, knowledge of data sets, drawing insights, and communicating learnings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in data Analytics, Economics, Finance, Geography & GIS, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, Marketing, Business, or another analytical discipline from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
SKILLS:
• Strong Geographic Information System (GIS) working knowledge or equivalent mapping skills.
• Knowledge of ArcGIS Desktop or ArcGIS Pro.
• The ability to inspect, cleanse, transform and model data from various sources with the goal of discovering useful information/trends, informing conclusions and supporting decision-making.
• The ability to collate data extracts and summarize key findings into concise relevant and easy to digest reports/deliverables for decisions makers.
• The ability to interpret, analyze, and explain financial information.
• The ability to understand and apply new information, procedures, or principles to perform job duties.
• The ability to work effectively without close supervision or guidance.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Power BI.
• The ability to develop and maintain professional, trusting, positive, and productive working relationships with associates, managers, customers, and vendors.
