Overview:
This Student Interview Data Collector will assist in completing deliverables for the CDC Grant as part of the OutbreakNet Enhanced Section. The Student Interview Data Collector is a member of an interdisciplinary team of epidemiologists and public health consultants assisting Florida in reaching its strategic public health goals. The selected candidate will operate full time and be required to work onsite in Tallahassee, FL.
Essential Functions:
- Participate as a member of the interview panel made up by the Food and Waterborne Disease Program and other personnel.
- Train the Salmonella interview team after the hiring of the new interview staff, using best practices found on the Food Safety Center of Excellence (CoE) products website.
- Track completion of trainings in the TRAIN system and Excel, and store location for the Outbreak Net Enhanced grant on the shared drive. Complete all trainings prior to conducting interviews.
- Conduct rapid telephone interviews for salmonellosis cases.
- Participate in the Outbreak Net Enhanced site visit meeting on a location and date determined.
- Participate in Outbreak Net Enhance Semi-annual One-on-One visits with the CDC. The date, location, and meeting type will be determined later.
- By March 15 provide the FWDP coordinator with the OutbreakNet Enhanced calculated metrics. Metrics are distributed by CDC annually in February.
- Participate in outbreak-related support duties as assigned by the FWDP Coordinator.
- Collect, record, and report Outbreak Net Enhanced Metrics to the Food and Waterborne Disease Program (FWDP) coordinator each month. Record the metrics in an excel spreadsheet and email it.
- Compile data from the metrics for the entire interview team in an Excel spreadsheet. Submit the compiled data to the FWDP coordinator and Contract Manager by April 15, unless another date is specified.
- Create a summary of best practices, any ongoing issues, and enhancements for future projects for the student interview team. Submit the summary to the FWDP coordinator and Contract Manager by April 15, unless another date is specified.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Public Health required.
- Formal training or work in the epidemiology field.
- Experience conducting interviews.
- Experience with data collection.
- One year of experience providing training to staff.
