The Concrete Laborer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of projects. Under the guidance of the supervisor, the Concrete Laborer will diligently follow instructions and specifications to maintain a secure work environment. Operating equipment and performing tasks with a strong commitment to safety and environmental protocols is essential to the role.
What you will do:
- Site Preparation: Thoroughly clean and prepare work sites to eliminate potential hazards, contributing to a safe working environment for all team members.
- Material Handling: Skillfully shovel, rake, and handle various materials like gravel, dirt, and more, ensuring proper distribution and alignment as needed.
- Equipment Handling: Effectively signal equipment operators to ensure precise machinery alignment, movement, or adjustment, enhancing operational efficiency.
- Material Management: Load, unload, and identify materials and tools according to project plans or specifications, delivering them accurately to designated locations.
- Measurement and Layout: Precisely measure, mark, and record openings or distances, assisting in the accurate layout of work areas for upcoming tasks.
- Temporary Structures: Safely erect or dismantle temporary structures such as braces, traffic barricades, and ramps, contributing to the seamless progression of projects.
- Safety Reporting: Responsible for promptly notifying the department lead of any potential safety or equipment concerns, promoting a proactive approach to hazard mitigation.
- Process Adherence: Consistently follow established processes and procedures, ensuring that tasks are carried out efficiently and in compliance with quality standards.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Demonstrate commitment to safety by wearing appropriate clothing, shoes, and personal protective equipment, fostering a culture of safety awareness.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Fulfill any other duties as assigned or required, contributing flexibly to the team's success and the completion of projects.
What you will need: (Minimum qualifications)
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
- Prior experience in labor or construction-related work is a plus.
- Basic understanding of safety protocols and guidelines.
- Ability to effectively communicate and follow instructions.
- Strong physical stamina and the capability to perform manual tasks.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
Working Conditions:
