Purchasing Agent
Maury Microwave, comprised of Boonton Electronics, Holzworth and Noisecom, is a global designer and manufacturer of advanced RF and microwave components, modules, systems and instruments. Serving the wireless, telecommunication, satellite, military, aerospace, semiconductor and medical industries, Maury Microwave enables innovation across a wide range of traditional and emerging wireless technologies. We are expanding our Operations team with a new opportunity for an on-site Purchasing Agent within our Parsippany, New Jersey facility.
As a Purchasing Agent you will report to the Logistics Manager. Your role will consist of the following:
- Review MRP system to identify material requirements.
- Issue RFQ’s to suppliers to obtain the best possible pricing and lead time.
- Procure materials for sustaining Operations.
- Generate Purchase Orders, confirm, and follow up with supplier orders.
- Interact with Planning, Engineering, and Production personnel as required to obtain material specifications and requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and maintain contract negotiation policies.
- Maintain purchased product integrity and accuracy in our ERP system.
- Other activities as outlined by Logistics Manager.
Requirements:
At least 5 years of experience in a Procurement with the following items preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience interacting with suppliers on a daily basis.
- Strong communication and verbal skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to handle multiple issues simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective follow up and follow through skills with strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge and experience with Customer Portal sites, ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft applications.
