Basic Function: As a Business Analyst, focusing on balancing operational business needs with Information Systems, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between technology and business processes. The Business Analyst role will involve understanding operational requirements, analyzing existing systems, and identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Operations, Sales, Purchasing, Quality, Marketing, Product Management, Accounting, and Human Resources, to develop solutions that align technology with our business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Business Process Analysis:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand operational needs, challenges, and pain points.
- Analyze existing business processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Propose process optimization strategies to enhance productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Where necessary, define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases and elements; forming project team; establishing project budget.
- Requirements Gathering:
- Work closely with business users and Functional teams to define requirements that align with operational business needs.
- Document and prioritize user stories, functional specifications, and process improvement features.
- Work as part of team to analyze improvement suggestions, identify required effort and gained value, and set the priority for implementation.
- Ensure clear communication and alignment between business stakeholders and IT teams throughout the development and implementation process.
- Integration and Implementation:
- Collaborate with Functional teams to evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities for integration and automation.
- Participate in process improvement selection processes, providing insights on business requirements and evaluating potential solutions.
- Support the implementation and integration of new process improvements, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption to business operations.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze data to generate meaningful insights and actionable reports.
- Develop and maintain data visualization dashboards and reporting tools to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor operational business needs and measure system effectiveness. Communicate these to top management as needed.
- Understand and communicate the financial and operational impact of any changes.
- Change Management and Training:
- Facilitate change management activities to ensure smooth transitions and user adoption of new processes and systems.
- Work with function heads to develop training materials and conduct training sessions to educate end-users on process and system functionalities and best practices.
- Ensure the appropriate documentation changes (forms, operating procedures, etc.) are implemented with process and system improvements.
- Provide ongoing support and assistance to users, addressing process- and system- related issues and inquiries.
- Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support your recommendations. Actively participate in the implementation of approved changes.
- All other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, information systems, computer science, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst with a focus on system integration and operational optimization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex business processes and translate them into system requirements.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Understanding of supply chain management, inventory control, and logistics operations is desirable.
