ABOUT THE JOB
JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Note: The job functions relate to the job, not the individual)
- Prioritize, schedule and delegate work assignments, and directly coach and lead the maintenance staff to ensure the electrical and mechanical servicing and maintenance of production machinery, tools and equipment and the physical plant utilities, maximizing production up time and minimizing machine down time.
- Prioritize and schedule requests for repairs and installations; establish time schedules that best optimizes reliability while servicing customers.
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program. Ensure the completion and maintenance of maintenance logs. Update, upgrade, and improve upon current PMs to enhance uptime reliability.
- Develop and control 5-year capital expenditure projects from budgetary, design, implementation to completion, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and timetables.
- Develop and implement annual overhaul projects for production equipment and machinery.
- Coordinate building and grounds repair and maintenance, structural changes, and any other building and grounds maintenance related activities with production, staff, contractors, and prioritize projects as required.
- Coordinate with other department supervisors and operators for plans, recommendations, and implementation of equipment needs and changes to improve productivity, and plant layout.
- Participate on cross functional project teams to improve productivity, methods, processes and quality.
- Obtain quotes on projects requiring outside contractors; evaluate quotes based on price, time schedule, and quality of work.
- Purchase of maintenance materials and parts; ensure the maintenance of inventory records. Identify and execute alternative sources and solutions as needed to meet production demands.
- Coordinate building inspections with the appropriate government inspectors.
- Ensure the completion and maintenance of all required paperwork, logs, reports and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all personal safety, food safety, HACCP, GMPs, housekeeping, and work rules and regulations.
- Assists Production Supervisors and QA Manager to plan and implement sanitation and recycling activities.
- Constantly evaluate, manage, and coach team members for improved functional results through training, coaching and team building.
- Coordinate and work with auditors, inspectors, and permitting authorities of local and state as required
- Support and participate in internal audits, teams, and plant functions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Three to five years of trades training plus three to five years of progressively responsible related experience; or seven years of progressively responsible related experience; or a combination of education and experience. Strong working knowledge of personal computing. Process and equipment programming, setup, calibration and adjustment.
Industrial electrical experience and understanding of NEC and NFPA, PLC (Allen Bradley platforms) understanding and troubleshooting, with experience in integration, design, and ever-changing enhancements. - Maintain high safety standards, enforce safety policies, Work safely and train employees to work safely.
- Work well with other departments and promote good people and team building skills.
- Manage and train all department personnel. Enforce all Wis-Pak policies and procedures and report to the Facility Manager. Assign work schedules.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, PLC programming, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write reports and documentation.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, vendors, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as dimensions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to analyze and interpret a variety of information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Requires the ability to operate a wide variety of small hand and power tools, various machine tools, lift equipment, welding equipment, various test equipment, and a computer.
- Requires a broad knowledge of tooling, maintenance procedures, and general maintenance practice.
