JOB DESCRIPTION
Location : WIS-PAK of NORFOLK
Position : Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Reports To : Warehouse Lead Person
Date : 09 / 25 / 2017
JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Warehouse Lead, the Shipping and Receiving Clerk verifies, maintains and processes records on incoming or outgoing shipments.
JOB DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Note : The job functions relate to the job, not the individual)
Prepare bills of lading for each shipment; check and record all items loaded for shipment.
Enter order numbers into computer and prepare picking list. Print and distribute copies to proper personnel.
Maintain shipping records such as raw material receivers, status of production codes, pick orders, and other shipping and receiving activities. Enter production codes on status board, update as needed.
Check received goods against purchase orders as to quantity, identification, and type. Visually inspect goods received for damage from handling and transit. Report immediately any concealed shortage or damaged items.
Check items to be shipped against shipping orders to ensure correct materials, quantity, and identification. Verify that all loads have been shipped.
Communicate with Production personnel regarding product shortages, production status, new orders, or changes.
Answer phones for the shipping and receiving department.
Follow all company established clean up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations.
Operate computer system as it pertains to shipping and receiving.
Enter production codes on status board, update as needed.
Alert Production to new orders, changes, etc.
Follow all Food Safety and GMP Policies.
JOB DUTIES / MARGINAL FUNCTIONS (Not fundamental job duties)
Clean shipping office as needed.
Accumulate and print other information as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic math and writing skills.
Ability to operate a computer.
Good communication skills.
Ability to lift up to 30lbs. on an infrequent basis.
Ability to operate a computer.
Ability to sit for 30 minutes.
Ability to report to work on time on a consistent basis.
Ability to work somewhat unsupervised.
