Position: FORKLIFT OPERATOR (PRODUCTION)

JOB SUMMARY

• Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor and Lead Person, the Forklift Operator operates a pallet handling forklift to move finished products from the production line to the warehouse; maintains prescribed stock rotation requirements and supplies production lines with needed raw materials; and operates the palletizer for production line, as required.

JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Note: The job functions relate to the job, not the individual)

• Coordinate with other production and warehouse forklift drivers for proper utilization of warehouse space.
• Assist with transportation of raw materials from warehouse storage to point-of-use for production.
• Operate a forklift truck to place full goods in the warehouse and supply machines with raw materials.
• Transport materials within the warehouse; remove dunnage from machines, sort, remove and replace damaged product.
• Accurately scan barcodes as needed and complete required paperwork and documentation.
• Safely operate the palletizers, as required.
• Follow standardized safety procedures and perform work in a safe and cost-effective manner.
• Transport empty pallets to the pallet dispenser and loading dispenser.
• Correctly stack out all full goods partials during production.
• Occasionally help unload trucks which deliver manufacturing materials and other items purchased by the company.
• Transport empty can and bottle pallets to depallitizer.
• Remove finished product from palletizers and transport to storage. Follow standardized safety procedures and perform work in a safe and cost-effective manner.
• Operate stretch wrap machines and keep palletizers stocked with stretch wrap, as required.
• Change forklift batteries and/or fill batteries with water, as needed.
• Clean whenever possible (mandatory at end of shift)

JOB DUTIES/MARGINAL FUNCTIONS (Not fundamental job duties)

QUALIFICATIONS

• Requires High School diploma or equivalent with good math and English skills.
• Requires ability to complete Forklift Operator’s training course and successfully pass a test.
• Ability to operate and understand our barcode system.
• Previous experience with a forklift is required
• Requires ability to lift 50lbs. on a regular basis.
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Requires ability to communicate with management and other employees.
• Must possess legible handwriting skills.
• Must be able to work under a minimum of supervision.
• Comply with all safety rules and regulations.
• Follow all GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices)
• Follow all food safety policies, procedures and regulations.
