As a Shop/Parts Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining our parts inventory to ensure our fleet of rental equipment is maintained and repaired efficiently to maximize customer satisfaction. You will have regular communication with our vendors to ensure we have an adequate stock of quality products which are used to maintain our fleet and also sold to our customers. The Shop/Parts Coordinator is also responsible for reviewing the submitted work orders for completeness to confirm our inventory stays accurate. You will work closely with your manager to assist in overseeing our fleet of rental equipment and take service calls from our customers to minimize equipment downtime which drives profitability.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Order and Maintain parts inventory (for both locations)
- Review common stock on a regular basis to ensure inventory is sufficient
- Check in parts and distribute to appropriate service tech or put away in parts room
- Continuously review the parts management process and propose process improvements when applicable
- Answer all parts-related questions and confirm the parts information and pricing is maintained accurately in our system.
- Manage the yearly physical inventory count process
- Work closely with parts vendors to ensure quality products are used and negotiate preferred pricing to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Review submitted equipment forms (work orders, inspections, annuals) for accuracy and completeness and process in our system.
- Create service invoices for the relevant work orders submitted
- Receive parts orders from customers and create the corresponding invoice
- Submit warranties for parts, equipment, repairs, etc.
- Maintain and oversee the rental fleet’s oil change log and ANSI log
- Maintain the service tech’s service log board with direction from your manager
- Coordinate outside repairs with vendors as needed
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
- Assist with overseeing our fleet and making sure appropriate units are rent ready
- Assist with taking service calls and scheduling techs for repairs
- Assist with assigning units for rental contracts
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
- 3 years of industrial parts/inventory management is required
- 2 years of experience with industrial equipment specifically booms, scissor lifts, and forklifts is highly preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of parts sourcing and research.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Ability to organize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
- Intermediate computer skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other business software.
- Qualified candidates will have the ability to communicate effectively with customers and Wisconsin Aerial Lift Service personnel.
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
- Willingness to accept new roles and responsibilities when asked by direct manager.
Pay is based on experience.
