Financial Specialist Advanced

POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision of the Financial Program Supervisor (FPS), this position provides complex accounting, auditing and bookkeeping oversight for multiple programs and funding sources at Stanley Correctional Institution (SCI). This position audits and reviews financial transactions including cost allocation patterns for general institution operations, inmate accounts, stores operations, Canteen, Capital, Fuel and Utilities, Repair and Maintenance, and Purchase of Services program. This position exercises independent judgment in the preparation, processing and reconciliation of a wide variety of fiscal transactions including reports to SCI management staff on those transactions and recommendation and implementation of appropriate procedural enhancements. This position prepares complex documents and reports ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as the Department of Administration (DOA) and the Department of Corrections (DOC) internal controls and policies/procedures. This position has primary responsibility for the institution’s Risk Management, Procurement, Asset Management, Account Receivable and Fleet Management programs. This position functions as lead worker coordinating workflow for four financial specialists.

The Financial Specialist Advanced shall comply with the Department’s administrative rules and the agency’s policies and procedures including those related to the Department's overall Reentry philosophy of using evidence-based strategies, practices and programs which target an inmate’s individual criminogenic needs and risk level.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,391.00 - $62,297.00 per year
