Position Summary
The Global Trade and Investment (GTI) Intern will support our efforts to strengthen Wisconsin’s economy by accelerating exports and attracting foreign direct investment. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in international trade and economic development while assisting with key programs that help Wisconsin companies expand their global reach.
The intern will assist with research, program coordination, and event planning related to export development and foreign investment initiatives. This includes supporting the administration of financial assistance programs for exporters, contributing to market research and trade data analysis, proposing collateral and other assets, improving existing touchpoints for our key personas, and helping organize Global Trade Ventures that connect Wisconsin businesses with international opportunities. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, globally minded individual interested in international business, economic development, and trade policy and is inspired to help the team focus on maximizing the economic impact of WEDC’s foreign direct investment and export-related strategies.
Responsibilities
The GTI Intern will spend most of their time on these activities:
- Establish personal understanding of campaign management, process development, investment attraction, export-related strategy, and broader economic and business landscape
- Conduct research, interviews, and understanding of the customer lifecycle across the division’s key programs and initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-divisional teams to simplify processes to inform a unified and impactful approach to engagements throughout the customer lifecycle for key personas
- Review existing communications, programs, and resources and their interaction with the lifecycle and desired organizational outcomes
- Propose programs, collateral, tools, communications to maximize export and foreign direct investment opportunities
Salary : $15 - $18
