What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intake Operator position at Wisconsin Whey Protein?
Summary:
This person will be responsible for loading liquid truckloads of WPC. The intake operator will also unload milk and whey into silos, perform quality tests and cleaning as needed. Ensure all documentation is complete timely and accurate, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), sanitation requirements, and performance measures are tracked and met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate loading and unloading equipment as directed to help produce a safe, quality product.
- Oversee liquid operations and work with operators or management to resolve production or processing problems.
- Manage silo volumes.
- Be able to operate the testing equipment and perform the required quality checks, interpret results, and react accordingly.
- Understand the proper use of the various cleaning compounds.
- Understand the importance of good sanitation, personal hygiene and comply with all safe quality foods (SQF), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Process (GMP) and allergen awareness standards.
- Learn CIP requirements and manual cleaning functions.
- Recognize when systems are not functioning properly and request assistance when needed.
- Must document information accurately.
- Work in a safe manner.
- Assist with all other duties as required.
- Must be detail oriented and organized.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Qualification/Requirements:
- Food plant experience is preferred.
- Must have or be able to obtain a Bulk Milk Weigher and Sampler license
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills needed to manage multiple priorities and work well in a team-based environment.
- Must be able to verbally communicate, understand and write in the English language.
- Good computer skills with experience using Word, Excel or other spreadsheet and network experience.
- Consistent and punctual attendance required.
- Pre-employment drug screening.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, or walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to climb, squat, bend, kneel and lift at least 50 lbs.
- The employee will be required to operate a computer and keyboard; have visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech; manual dexterity to operate a telephone.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
