The Bagging Room Operator is responsible for operating and cleaning the bagging equipment in the facility and sanitation of the general plant in compliance with Company and regulatory standards. The Bagging Room Operator must also be able to communicate effectively and follow all company policies, procedures, and systems. In this position you must comply with all safe quality foods (SQF), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Process (GMP) and allergen awareness standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment as directed to produce a safe, quality product.
- Perform testing and checks for CCP’s in an accurate manner.
- Be able to cross-train and operate several different processes.
- Understand the importance of good sanitation, personal hygiene and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Comply with all safe quality foods (SQF), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Process (GMP) and allergen awareness standards.
- Recognize when systems are not functioning properly and request assistance when needed.
- Perform sanitation in a safe complete manner and document as necessary.
- Understand the proper use of the various cleaning compounds.
- Must document information clearly as required for production records.
- Must collect product samples in a safe, sterile fashion. Ensure that samples are properly identified and documented.
- Must follow plant guidelines to keep the bagging room as close to a clean room environment as possible.
- Lift at least 55 lbs at a rate of 90 bags per minute.
- Work in a safe and productive manner.
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Food plant experience a plus.
- Must be dependable and have good attendance
- Must be able to verbally communicate, understand and write in the English language.
- Consistent and punctual attendance required.
- Pre-employment drug screening.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods of time. The employee will be required to operate a computer and keyboard, have visual acuity to review written documentation, ability to hear and understand speech, manual dexterity to operate a telephone, physically bend and stoop, and lift at least 55lbs repeatedly.
