Wisconsin Whey Protein provides high quality milk protein ingredients to manufacturers of food and beverage products worldwide. Our products are produced in custom built facilities in Darlington and Turtle Lake Wisconsin.
Immediate Supervisor: Cheese Production Manager
Summary: The warehouse operator is in charge of all operations in the warehouse that include but are not limited to: caring for inventory as it is produced on production days, indexing and controlling inventory in the cooling warehouse, and operation of forklifts in a safe manner, inspection of both incoming materials and truck inspections with minimal direct supervision. Part-time hours are available from 6am-6pm every Saturday and Sunday.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Have knowledge of and understand all equipment involved in receiving and shipment of dry goods and equipment, as well as cheese being shipped to customers.
- Knowledge of sampling equipment and sample handling and storage
- Maintain the warehouse areas by sanitary measures to meet Federal and State regulations and practice quality control of all products
- Accurately run all tests necessary for quality control
- Checks and documents product temperatures
- Reports and follows up on all repairs of equipment as needed
- Perform all other assignments as required
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess or are able to obtain Forklift certification
- Be able to accurately record inventory and be able to read and understand quality control measures
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor sometimes under adverse conditions
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing
- Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
- Must be available to work weekends
- Must be able to verbally communicate, understand and write in the English language
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk, talk and hear. The employee is required to walk; use hands and fingers to operate handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
