Hours & Pay:
This is a summer position with the option to join our school year team
Up to $800 per week, pay is based on education and experience
Full-time | Exempt, 40-50 hours per week, Monday-Friday, June 16-August 15, with the option to work August 18-22
Required training takes place in May and June
Position Summary: The adventure trip leader implements a recreational and educational outdoor program for a small group of children ages 8-11 and 11-14. Alongside a Co-Adventure Trip Leader, primary responsibilities of the position include direct supervision to an assigned group of children and ensure their safety while traveling to various destinations within 1.5 hours of Madison. Other responsibilities include driving a 15-passenger van, implementing high-quality programming and managing the program budget.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Must be 21 years old and has completed high school or GED
- Enjoys being active
- Enjoys being outdoors and can maintain extend periods of activity with youth outdoors and indoors
- Has a current driver's license with clean driving record, and is willing to be trained to drive a 15-passenger van
- Has strong leadership skills
- Has experience working with youth ages 8-14
- Is willing to become lifeguard and CPR certified (WYC will pay for training)
Program Locations: Our Wander Wisconsin program operates out of school buildings in Madison, Verona, and Waunakee
