Job Description: Automotive Sales Associate

Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Automotive Sales Associate to join our dynamic dealership team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for sales, excellent interpersonal skills, and the drive to succeed. While no prior automotive sales experience is required, candidates must have prior commission-based sales experience and a proven ability to build relationships and deliver exceptional customer service.

As an Automotive Sales Associate, you will be responsible for guiding customers through the vehicle purchase process, understanding their needs, and providing personalized recommendations to help them find the perfect vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Engagement:

• Greet customers promptly and professionally as they enter the dealership or inquire online.

• Build rapport with customers to understand their needs, preferences, and budgets.

• Provide an exceptional customer experience by actively listening and responding to questions, concerns, and objections.

2. Product Knowledge:

• Learn and maintain up-to-date knowledge of all vehicles in the dealership’s inventory, including features, benefits, and pricing.

• Educate customers on vehicle specifications, warranties, financing options, and other available dealership services.

• Conduct test drives with customers and demonstrate key features of vehicles.

3. Sales Process:

• Guide customers through the entire sales process, from initial inquiry to final delivery.

• Present financing and payment options in collaboration with the Sales Manager

• Negotiate and close sales while maintaining professionalism and adhering to dealership policies.

4. Customer Follow-Up:

• Follow up with prospective customers to provide additional information, answer questions, and encourage further engagement.

• Maintain relationships with existing customers to ensure satisfaction and generate repeat business and referrals.

5. Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with the sales team, management, and other departments to meet individual and team sales goals.

• Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and dealership events to stay informed and improve skills.

6. Administrative Duties:

• Accurately complete sales paperwork and submit required documentation in a timely manner.

• Maintain customer records in the dealership’s CRM system.

• Ensure the lot and showroom are well-organized and vehicles are clean and presentable.

Qualifications:

• No prior automotive sales experience required, but candidates must have previous commission-based sales experience (e.g., retail, real estate, telecommunications, etc.).

• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A professional appearance and the ability to represent the dealership positively.

• High level of self-motivation and a drive to exceed sales goals.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience using a CRM system or sales tracking tools.

• Familiarity with the automotive industry or an interest in learning about vehicles and technology.

Work Schedule:

• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed, to meet customer demand.
