What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant/Receptionist position at Wise County Adult Probation?
The Administrative Assistant shall perform varied and increasingly responsible clerical, typing, computer, and general secretarial work.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: greeting the defendants, other county employees and general public upon entering the building; maintaining and organizing files for new cases and court intakes, entering and receipting financial transactions for walk-in and mail-in transactions; answering the telephones and directing calls to appropriate person or agency; disbursing correspondence including letters, court documentations, reports and mail-in receipts; filing of termination orders and closing out probation files, maintaining office supply inventory and ordering supplies as needed for the department. This position is also responsible for the daily computer system back-up; and will also assist the Data Processing Specialist with data entry of new cases as needed. This position also requires attention to detail, confidential information and accuracy with numbers and handling of monies.
