What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Manager of Alternate Channels position at Wise Snacks?
This role can be based in Pennsylvania, Maryland, NJ or NY
This role is responsible for developing and implementing profitable business plans to drive sales with customers outside of the normal DSD channels such as foodservice and specialty outlets. They are also responsible for ensuring the development of profitable programs through negotiating pricing and executing strategic plans.
This position will manage 3-5 managers with responsibility to develop channels such as Food Service, large format distributors of natural foods, some Deep River DSD outside of Wiseland and direct customers. They will work with their team, within their own accounts and with brokers to develop strategic plans and convey the plans to customers. The goal is to grow the ACF&S brands through alternative channels and expand areas with solid profitability and controlled costs. The position will report directly to the Senior Director of Accounts. Total business managed will be approximately $26- $30 million annually.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sales Planning
- Alignment with Sr. Director of Accounts on goals and objectives of profitable programs.
- Communication with finance, marketing, and production to ensure all programs are profitable and production can support the requests. (S&OP)
- Monitor account sales performance, financial results monthly and implement any needed actions to correct issues.
- Provide monthly reviews to leadership team on sales performance and opportunities.
- Profitability
- Review sales data monthly with finance, RGM and marketing to ensure we are utilizing the correct items with the proper price point for the market area to deliver profitability goals.
- Monthly review of P&L to ensure profitability is maximized.
- Work with AR to ensure all accounts are current and payment terms are implemented and followed.
- Work with production and marketing teams to develop new products and ideas to grow sales.
- Increase Sales
- Review all opportunities with marketing and production team to identify potential new volume market areas.
- Will manage several key accounts of their own.
- Monthly reviews with major customers to identify any new opportunities
- Work with DSD operations to understand any impact that new customers may have on DSD operation team or accounts.
- Manage Accounts / Customer Development
- Develop with their team a solid broker network to maximize our sales potential while getting best ROI on investment with broker.
- Work with customers to understand any opportunities that ACF&S can support them with in profitable growth.
- Follow up weekly with production, customer service and transportation to understand any shipment issues and communicate with customer.
- Develop with marketing, strategic plans for new items or expansion on size changes for channels.
- Build strong relationships with key customers to support company initiatives
- Ensure customer's issues are understood and work to resolve them.
- QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: HS degree required, Associate's Degree - Business, Bachelor's degree Communications, Economics, Business required.
- Experience: 5 years' CPG experience, 5 years Account Call responsibility, 5 years Sales experience. Position Requires: Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
