This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days expected in the Tukwila office.
Wise (the Washington Initiative for Supported Employment) currently has an opening for the position of Staff Accountant. Wise is a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding and sustaining employment opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. We primarily provide training and support for those who wish to create employment opportunities in their communities.
The Staff Accountant position is a key position within the organization's administrative team. This position will be active with day-to-day accounting tasks with a focus on accounts receivable and payables, utilizing QuickBooks and other accounting applications, spreadsheets, and software, as well as a variety of additional areas essential in financial administrative support of our staff and clients.
By joining our team, you will have the responsibility to:
- Assist with daily financial transactions including purchases, receipts and payments
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our system
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments
- Reconcile statements and other financial accounts
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
- Support the Accounting team and Leadership team with financial and management reports.
- Provide special project assistance to project managers, with their direction and aid their understanding and ability to achieve financial goals
- Collaborate with Director of Finance (DOF), and Executive Director, when necessary, to monitor banking and funding activity.
- Participate in audits and budgeting processes, including research and analysis of revenue and expense variances.
- May establish, modify, and coordinate implementation of fiscal policies and accounting internal control procedures with the DOF.
- HR assistance with benefit documents, new hire requirements, background checks and personnel files.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation

Pay: $52,000.00 - $61,535.00 per year
