Job Summary :
The Director of the National Investigative Services Division (NISD) serves in a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, operations, and performance of the private detective team. This individual will lead investigative efforts, manage risk assessment operations, and ensure compliance with legal and industry standards. The Director will supervise department managers provide guidance to trainers, investigators, private detectives, and administrative staff. Additionally, they will collaborate with other departments to support cross-functional initiatives, training, and programs. This role is critical to the success and integrity of the Elite Special Unit (ESU), requiring a strong leader with investigative expertise, strategic vision, and a commitment to ethical operations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities :
Department Leadership & Strategy :
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for the Elite Special Unit (ESU) in alignment with Company objectives.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency, professionalism, and adherence to legal and ethical guidelines.
- Lead and mentor department managers, providing guidance and oversight to ensure departmental success.
Investigative Oversight & Case Management :
Supervise and support high-profile and complex investigations, ensuring thorough and lawful execution.Establish and maintain investigative protocols, ensuring best practices are followed in surveillance, evidence collection, and reporting.Review investigative reports and findings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.Training & Professional Development :
Oversee training programs for private detectives, investigators, and security personnel, ensuring continuous professional development.Ensure trainers deliver effective courses in investigative techniques, surveillance, security procedures, and legal compliance.Implement and support certifications and professional licensing requirements.Compliance & Risk Management :
Ensure that all investigative and security operations comply with local, state, and federal laws.Develop and enforce policies related to confidentiality, evidence handling, and ethical standards.Conduct periodic audits of investigative procedures and reports.Operational & Resource Management :
Manage department budgets, including personnel, equipment, and technology investments.Oversee the deployment and scheduling of private detectives and investigative teams.Implement technology solutions to enhance investigative efficiency and effectiveness.Collaboration & Cross-Departmental Coordination :
Work closely with legal, HR, and compliance teams to ensure all investigations align with company policies and legal requirements.Partner with other departments to provide investigative support for security, fraud prevention, and risk mitigation.Coordinate with external law enforcement agencies, legal representatives, and security firms as needed.Performance Monitoring & Reporting :
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for department effectiveness and efficiency.Provide regular reports to the Vice President on case progress, department initiatives, and operational improvements.Implement feedback mechanisms to improve investigative processes and department functions.Qualifications :
Education & Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or a related field required; a Master's degree is a plus.Minimum of 10 years of experience in private investigations, law enforcement, or safety operations, with at least 5 years in a senior management or director-level role.Proven experience managing teams, budgets, and large-scale investigative operations.Ability to gain certifications through the Board of Private Detectives and Security AgenciesTechnical & Industry Expertise :
Strong knowledge of investigative techniques, surveillance methods, and legal considerations in private investigations.Familiarity with relevant federal and state regulations governing private detective operations.Proficiency in security and investigative technology, including surveillance equipment, digital forensics, and case management software.Leadership & Management Skills :
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams, including managers, investigators, and support staff.Strong strategic planning skills with the ability to develop and implement long-term department goals.Ability to make high-pressure decisions and resolve complex investigative challenges.Communication & Relationship Management :
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience preparing reports, presentations, and legal documentation.Ability to work effectively with senior executives, law enforcement agencies, legal professionals, and internal departments.Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.Ethical & Confidentiality Standards :
High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality in handling sensitive investigations.Strong adherence to ethical standards and legal compliance in investigative work.Operational & Budgetary Oversight :
Experience managing budgets, allocating resources, and making strategic investment decisions for investigative tools and personnel.Ability to analyze operational efficiency and implement improvements.Certifications & Licensing :
Private Investigator License (or eligibility to obtain one) in the operating jurisdiction.Additional safety or law enforcement certifications are a plus.Adaptability & Crisis Management :
Ability to respond quickly to emerging threats, safety concerns, or investigative challenges.Experience in risk assessment and emergency response planning.Technology & Data Management :
Proficiency in investigative databases, case management software, and cybersecurity best practices.Understanding of digital forensics and modern investigative tools.Work Environment & Travel :
This position requires a combination of office-based work and field operations.Travel may be required for investigations, client meetings, training programs, and conferences.Flexibility in work hours, including nights and weekends, may be needed depending on case demands.Compensation : Competitive salary based on experience.
