Job Summary:
The Manager of Entertainment is responsible for overseeing daily operations across our independent film theaters, sound stages, and entertainment spaces. This role requires a strategic leader who can effectively manage the Entertainment department employees and interns, plan and execute on-site events, collaborate with the sound stage crew, and support the Director of Entertainment in scaling the department for other locations. The ideal candidate is innovative, with a keen eye for detail, a passion for the entertainment industry, and the capability to drive growth in alignment with the Company’s vision. This role is ideal for an experienced manager passionate about building a unique entertainment experience within Wisemen, driving audience engagement, and operational excellence across all locations.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Theater and Venue Management
  • Oversee daily operations for theaters showcasing independent films, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
  • Manage staffing schedules, training, and performance for theater employees.
  • Monitor and analyze attendance, feedback, and film performance to make data-driven adjustments and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with marketing and promotions teams to develop events and activities that attract new audiences.

Sound Stage and Production Support
  • Coordinate sound stage crew schedules and tasks, ensuring all events and productions run smoothly.
  • Ensure that all technical equipment, lighting, and sound systems are in optimal working condition.
  • Maintain relationships with sound and production vendors, ensuring cost-effective solutions for sound stage needs.

Event Planning and Execution
  • Plan and coordinate on-site events, such as film screenings, panel discussions, and other entertainment experiences.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure all aspects of the event align with Wisemen guidelines and operational standards.
  • Lead event setup and breakdown, collaborating with the sound stage crew, theater team, Events department, and external vendors.

Team Leadership and Development
  • Supervise and mentor Entertainment department employees, interns, and other support staff.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to promote a high-performance culture.
  • Implement performance management processes to ensure employees are meeting and exceeding expectations.

Scaling and Expansion Support
  • Assist the Director of Entertainment in assessing potential locations for new entertainment sites.
  • Develop and implement operational plans for scaling the entertainment model to additional sites.
  • Provide input on location design, staffing needs, and equipment procurement to ensure consistent quality across sites.

Budget and Inventory Management
  • Assist in managing departmental budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Track inventory of technical and event equipment, coordinating maintenance and replenishment as needed.
  • Work with procurement to source cost-effective solutions for operational needs.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Entertainment Management, Event Management, or related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 5 years of experience in entertainment management, theater operations, or event planning, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of independent film theater operations, sound stage management, and on-site event coordination.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in event planning software, sound stage equipment management, and project management tools.

Working Conditions
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate theater operations and event schedules.
  • Must be willing to travel to new sites and support expansion efforts as required.

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 annually or commensurate with experience.
