- We are seeking a results-driven and experienced Purchasing Manager to lead our cabinet procurement operations. This role is critical to our continued growth and success, ensuring the seamless flow of materials required for high-quality cabinet production. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement process for all cabinet materials and components. This includes strategic vendor management, price negotiation, inventory control, and ensuring on-time delivery to support production schedules. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mix of operational expertise, cost management skills, and a proactive mindset to streamline purchasing operations and improve supply chain performance. Additionally, the purchasing manager may be responsible for resolving any issues related to orders or deliveries and continuously see Ability to
find ways to optimize the procurement process for efficiency and cost-effectiveness and must become an Expert Subject Matter in their role.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:- The Purchasing Agent duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversee the procurement of all materials and supplies required for cabinet production.
- Develop and execute purchasing strategies to secure high-quality materials at optimal cost.
- Lead analysis and optimization of the supply base to improve supplier performance and reliability.
- Evaluate market trends and delivery systems to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Report purchasing performance metrics, cost analyses, and supplier KPIs to senior management.
- Lead vendor sourcing, selection, and contract negotiation to build long-term strategic partnerships.
- Manage the evaluation and comparison of suppliers, products, and services to support informed purchasing decisions.
- Supervise order tracking, confirmations, and timely documentation of incoming materials.
- Oversee receiving processes and ensure alignment with purchase orders and quality expectations.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across the procurement function.
- Monitor inventory levels in collaboration with production and warehouse teams to ensure just-in-time availability.
- Utilize and refine scorecard systems to evaluate supplier performance and align with company objectives.
- Act as a key liaison between vendors, internal stakeholders, and leadership to ensure alignment of procurement goals with overall business targets.
- Mentor and support purchasing staff to build a high-performing, accountable team.
- Proven experience (5 years) in purchasing or supply chain management, preferably in cabinet manufacturing or in a related industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and vendor management experience.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and purchasing software.
- Solid understanding of cabinet materials, hardware, and manufacturing processes is a strong plus.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
