As a Food Runner, you’ll be the critical link between our kitchen and dining room, delivering dishes accurately and efficiently while interacting with guests and team members with positivity and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver food promptly and accurately to the correct tables
- Clearly describe each dish and highlight key ingredients or dietary considerations
- Maintain knowledge of all menu items and daily specials
- Assist with table maintenance, including clearing empty dishes and resetting as needed
- Keep the runner station clean, organized, and fully stocked
- Support opening and closing duties, including:
- Stocking service areas with supplies
- Performing designated side work
- Reporting any breakage or maintenance issues to management
- Communicate guest needs and feedback to servers and kitchen staff
- Follow Department of Health standards and company sanitation procedures
- Participate in daily pre-service meetings and staff training sessions
- Maintain a polished, professional appearance and a team-first attitude
- Uphold the welcoming, efficient energy that makes Little Ruby’s special
- Previous experience as a food runner in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant or lounge
- Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Friendly and calm under pressure with excellent time management
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working near hot equipment and in a busy kitchen environment
- Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Passion for hospitality and supporting the team wherever needed
