Established in 1954, Wishek Hospital has been serving the community and surrounding area as a 24-bed critical access hospital that provides various inpatient and outpatient services for south central North Dakota. It is a 24-Hour Emergency Level V Trauma Center with onsite lab, x-ray and CT scan services. South Central Health also includes three clinics. Wishek Clinic conveniently is attached to the Wishek Hospital. Napoleon Clinic is located inside the Wentz Living Center in Napoleon, ND. Kulm Clinic is located in rural Kulm, ND.
Position Details
· Provide care to patients of all ages
· Rotation between our Rural Health Clinics
· Emergency Room consults
· Manage inpatient and observation patients admitted to our hospital
Responsibilities
· Patient Care:
o Diagnose and treat various medical conditions.
- Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
- Conduct thorough medical examinations and histories.
- Communication:
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Provide clear and concise medical information.
- Foster a collaborative and patient-centered approach to healthcare.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Document medical findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
- Ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations.
- Diagnostic Procedures:
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging.
- Perform procedures as needed
- Collaborate with specialists for further diagnostic evaluation.
- Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
- Provide consultative services to other healthcare providers.
- Quality Improvement:
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
- Review and analyze clinical outcomes for continuous improvement.
- Implement changes to enhance patient care and safety.
- Compliance:
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice.
- Stay informed about healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
- Participate in quality audits to ensure adherence to standards.
- Continuous Learning:
- Stay abreast of medical advancements and best practices.
- Participate in ongoing medical education and training.
- Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program or Nurse Practitioner program
- Board Certified and able to secure an unrestricted ND license and DEA
- Current BLS, ATLS, ACLS and PALS.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
