We are looking for a Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) Test Engineer to join the Integrated Systems Test Team and support the Aircraft and Avionics Integrated Product Team (IPT). You will own the design of the verification and certification test assets of Wisk Gen 6 aircraft systems.
Due to the nature of the work required for this position, this is an onsite opportunity. You will be required to work from the Mountain View office and Fremont Test Facility.
You will develop an automated test environment for the integrated test assets. You will bridge the gap between software and hardware and make sure everything integrates correctly. You will verify that Wisk’s aircraft systems are working per the FAA requirements and certify a new way of flying. You will be responsible for creating test fixtures from concept to full working rigs. You will provide onsite support to various test teams working on the component and system HIL, including the Iron Bird. The successful candidate will be proactive, work autonomously, hands-on and eager to solve problems.
\n- Develop HIL test stations for future aircraft systems.
- Automate test execution, data collection and post-processing to increase test cadence and reporting, ease operation.
- Implement and maintain configuration management.
- Work with various teams to set up test and troubleshoot issues on various integrated test assets.
- Diagnose issues on the HIL test stations, whether they are hardware or software related.
- Log deficiencies and lead the resolution and disposition activities.
- Configure hardware, software and simulation on different HIL test stations per the test team request.
- Maintain HIL test stations, operation manuals, training materials and configuration management.
- Coordinate and perform routine maintenance on the HIL test stations.
- B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering degree.
- 5 years of relevant work experience.
- 3 years of HIL test experience.
- Experience with NI tools and hardware (Veristand, PXI, Labview)
- Experience with Serial Protocols (RS485, RS422), Ethernet and networking.
- Excellent Python software scripting skills.
- Hands on development of test systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of power electronics and/or avionics systems
- Strong fundamentals and hands-on experience in analog and/or power electronics design
- Familiarity with several communication protocols such as ARINC, serial and ethernet
- Familiarity with Linux
- Experience interpreting PCB Schematics, Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and component datasheets
- Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters as well as tools such as CANalyzer and National Instruments hardware.
- Experience working with high voltage electrical systems
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment.
