Job Description
The position requires, under limited supervision, perform a variety of duties associated with maintaining the warehouse and supervising receiving, stocking, distributing, and inventorying of supplies and equipment; and perform related duties as assigned.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Assures proper receipt of all incoming materials and ingredients; ensures materials are properly tagged and counted; ensures receiving paperwork are accurately filled out, compiled and forwarded for verification. Conducts proper movement of material from receiving dock to the warehouse in an efficient, effective, and safe manner.
- Resolves discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports. Monitors the flow of paperwork from Receiving to Inventory Control for timely data entry.
- Manages the warehouse inventory system that result in timely and accurate inventory counts.
- Responsible for the movement of ingredient and packaging materials and stages them to the production areas per formula and quantities required meeting production demands.
- Responsible for the receipt and storage of finished goods into warehouse inventory. Maintains inventory records as applicable. Manages the finished goods inventory to reduce adjustments for spoilage and damage.
- Responsible for organization of warehousing space to effectively and efficiently maximize storage capacities and minimize material movements and comply with safety procedures.
- Responsible for the rotation of inventories within the warehouse (First In-First-Out).
- Responsible for the fulfillment of customer shipments including shipping transportation inspection, order selection (picking of orders), loading and documentation.
- Ensures that customer service standards (on-time shipment, completion of order, etc.) are achieved. Informs Management and Customer Service of any issues related to order fulfillment status as well as incoming materials not showing up for delivery.
- Understands safety performance to meet company/regulatory requirements and to ensure injury goals are achieved.
- Ensures that warehouse equipment is maintained and functional.
- Responsible for the area’s compliance to GMP’s, Food Safety and OSHA rules and practices. This includes maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse, refrigerated storage and docks and wearing the proper safety equipment.
- Performs other related duties as needed.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations including health and sanitation as well as Allergen, Non-GMO and Kosher procedures.
- Implement process improvement in the warehouse and understand Food Safety guidelines for SQF.
- Participates on the Quality System implementation and cooperates with the SQF Practitioner.
- Reports food safety and quality problems to personnel with the authority to initiate actions.
- Forklift experience
Assist other Departments as necessary.
Requirements
- Microsoft Excel experience
- Proven warehouse experience of 3-5 years essential
- Ability to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with other team members
- Ability to work safely and multi-task in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
