Backend Product Engineer

Our first product, Wispr Flow, has become the first consumer voice dictation platform to break the keyboard barrier: making people use voice more than their keyboards.

Wispr Flow is looking for an experienced backend engineer to take ownership of building new features and product lines with reliable and scalable infrastructure. If you like solving new problems, having deep ownership, and writing performant, beautiful code, this role is for you.

• Ship features end-to-end: Scope and lead technical projects from conception to deployment
• Own the product vision: Define and drive the product strategy across web and desktop, ensuring excellence in performance and usability
• Collaborate across teams: Work closely with the founders and ML engineers to push the boundaries of what’s possible
• Build for scale: Architect fast, reliable, and scalable back-end systems that handle massive audiences effortlessly.

• Familiar with scalable and secure infrastructure practices
• Experience with cloud-based software development across the whole stack
• Have a voracious and intrinsic desire to learn and fill in missing skills
• Thrive in a customer-focused, tight-knit and cross-functional environment
• Expertise in Python (2 years)
• Strong experience with databases and caching
• Love to build (we don’t have requirements for any academic degree)
• Experience in any of the following will make you stand out: AWS, FastAPI, testing frameworks, SQL optimization, CI/CD pipelines, ML deployments, async programming, low-level systems, and data stores

Salary : $125,000 - $200,000
